I love weddings!
I really do.
Whenever I have the privilege to officiate weddings, I jump at the chance because there is something so wonderful, so heavenly enjoyable about two people coming together to declare to God and one another of their intentions to DO LIFE TOGETHER.
But ya know what?
There are some other fun, and maybe not-so-fun relational situations that often happen during the course of a wedding rehearsal, and the wedding day itself.
Yep – I’m talking ’bout families! Woo Hoo!
How about them fun little family issues all up in your face now? Yeah, there are certainly difficult moments. But I have had the joy of seeing so many times of reconciliation, reconnection, forgiveness and setting aside serious issues in order to let the bride and groom have a wonderful celebration.
Here’s the thing:
God did not create you and I to be alone. Bottom line.
Everywhere you look in the Bible, you see God getting ready to do things through individuals, yes… but often He soon calls those individuals to join together with faithful partners, friends, family members, and step out on that journey – TOGETHER.
If it takes uncomfortable wedding scenarios, or those legendary family reunions… it’s worth it if it brings us together.
Jesus Said It This Way
Here’s what Jesus told his disciples about living their journeys of faith – together:
You must love one another. If you love one another, the world will know that I sent you and that I now go to the Father.
It’s a real good thing when God’s children learn how to love one another and to serve one another.
But that’s for another post to come soon!
Get in a small group and start doing what Jesus commanded us to do – love one another and serve one another!
Together For Him
